Happy 50th Anniversary, Bill & Dorothy!

A very special congratulations to Bill and Dorothy Dworsky, who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month.  Bill and Dorothy have been supporters of the girl & the fig since we first opened in 1997, and we feel extremely lucky to consider them great friends and to have shared so many fond memories with them over the years.  Here’s to many more!

Congratulations from all of us at the girl & the fig!

Introducing ESTATE’s New House Sangiovese: 2006 Anni Molto Buoni

We are thrilled to introduce our new house Sangiovese at ESTATE, bottled exclusively for us by Miner Family Vineyards.  The 2006 Anni Molto Buoni, which means “Very Good Years” in Italian, is made of 100% Sangiovese from the Gibson Ranch vineyard in Mendocino.  Be prepared for plenty of berry flavors that linger on the palate, and a wine that will age wonderfully over the next few years.

The artwork was done, of course, by our resident artist Christopher Michael Butler, and the label design is by Patti Britton of Britton Design.

Our Anni Molto Buoni is now on our wine list and ready for you to taste!  Stop by to see us to soon and try it out for yourself.

KIVA: Loans That Change Lives

the girl & the fig is very excited to be participating in the great work that’s currently being done at Kiva, a non-profit organization that is “the world’s first person-to-person micro-lending website.”  Their mission is “to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty,” and they make it possible for anyone to help out numerous entrepreneurs from impoverished communities around the world.

We are so lucky to live and work in Sonoma County. We work hard, we play hard and we want to help others to live the life they dream of.  We hope that we can give other people a nudge to reach out for their dreams and have a chance to make a difference.

Check out our new team page with Kiva to see who our members are supporting.  Feel free to join us if you’d like to participate!

What’s New at our Online Fig Store

Vents D’Anges Creations

Vents D’Anges Creations is a company that was founded by our friends in the Rhone. Yves Gangloff’s wife Mathilde and her partner Sylvie have created a unique spa product that we are extremely fortunate to be able to sell. The Gangloffs live in Cote Rotie and in this appellation only make wines using Syrah and Viognier grapes. They decided to follow suit with the soaps. Originally, they were making the soaps from the wineries grape must and infusing them but they took it a step further by recreating the scents with a perfumerie. This soap is inspired by Yves winemaking, artisanal crafts and of course the French lifestyle.

Presently, these products are exclusively sold in the USA by the girl & the fig, LLC.
